Abstract

Abstrak Inggris. Approximately 15% of all diabetes sufferers experience foot ulcers which result in amputation. The nurse's role is to make efforts to prevent diabetic ulcers through foot care education and foot exercises. Objective: This study aims to determine the effect of providing care education and foot exercises to diabetes mellitus patients who have a history of diabetic foot ulcers on their level of knowledge. Method: This research used a case report with a nursing process approach which was carried out over 3 meetings. At the first meeting, data collection was carried out by interviewing patients and families, the second meeting was to conduct health education, and the third meeting was to evaluate the implementation of foot care and foot exercises, as well as measuring blood sugar values. Results: There was an increase in knowledge among patients and families after education, an average value of 66.66 to an average value of 93.33. Conclusion: After education, there was an increase in knowledge among patients and families regarding diabetes foot care and foot exercises.
